A Review of Signet Ring cells in Salivary Gland Tumors
Objectives: Signet Ring Cells (SRCs) are often seen in gastrointestinal, breast, bile duct and lung invasive carcinomas. Observing these cells in benign and malignant lesions of the salivary glands is not common. Signet-ring cell adenocarcinoma is rare and is commonly seen in the secondary salivary glands. Although, the presence of SRCs in other neoplasms of the body is usually associated with ...
متن کاملA new case of primary signet-ring cell carcinoma of the cervix with prominent endometrial and myometrial involvement: Immunohistochemical and molecular studies and review of the literature
BACKGROUND As a rule, endocervical tumours with signet-ring cell are classed as metastatic extra-genital neoplasms. In a patient aged 45 years, we describe primary cervical signet-ring cell carcinoma (PCSRCC) characterized by prominent endometrial and myometrial involvement, simulating primary endometrial adenocarcinoma with cervical extension. In addition, a review was made of the literature t...
متن کاملHPV11 Positive Endometrioid Carcinoma of the Endometrium with Signet-Ring Cells: Diagnostic Criteria and Review of the Literature
The presence of signet-ring cells in an endometrial adenocarcinoma is extremely uncommon and it is always necessary to rule out a metastatic neoplasm. We report a FIGO grade 2 endometrial carcinoma with a signet-ring cell component found in the curettage performed to a 53-year-old woman. The neoplastic proliferation was also found in the endometrium of the radical hysterectomy with bilateral sa...
متن کاملPrimary signet-ring cell adenocarcinoma of the prostate (a case report).
We report a rare case of primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the prostate in a 61-year-old male, who died of systemic lymphatic spread. Autopsy ruled out another primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma outside the prostate. However, immunohistochemically, the tumor stained negatively for prostate-specific antigen. A review of the literature revealed only 15 case reports, including our case.
متن کاملTesticular Signet-Ring Cell Metastasis from a Carcinoma of Unknown Primary Site: A Case Report and Literature Review

The most common primary location of this type of cancer is the stomach, but it may also be found in other organs such as prostate, testis, bladder, ovaries, or colon.
